Amelia Earhart's History
Amelia Earhart was a tomboy from the start. She lived her life saying no to girly behavior; Earhart climbed trees, “belly-slammed” her sled to go downhill and hunted rats with a .22 rifle. Later in her life she got married to Gorge Putnam. But she didn’t stay put as a housewife. Together they worked on secret plans for Earhart to be the first woman and second person to solo the Atlantic. Earhart felt this flight proved men and women equaling “jobs that require intelligence, coordination, speed, coolness and willpower.” Earhart continued breaking records.
